Dalston, London’s excellent Aurora Borealis label (The Haxan Cloak, Burial Hex, øjeRum) grip Orphan Swords’ License To Desire [2015] for a new pressing, offering a tart reminder of their throttling industrial techno force.
A-side coughs up the galloping beast, Marchosias riding on horsepowered bass and building up to a fearsome wall of drone noise liable to take yer eyebrows off, before conserving their nervous energies in the more brittle, cagy gothic stepper Asmoday which soon enough loosens its foul bowels by the end of the side.
B-side is handed over to Hooker, sliming across the side at a kerb-crawling pace with blank-eyed monotone bass hump while slowly asphyxiating on noxious drone pollution.
